The Contribution of Trinidad Island Micropaleontology to Global E&P. Barry Carr-Brown. Special Publication 100 Years of Petroleum in Trinidad and Tobago. Celebrating a Century of Commercial Oil Production 2011 You can download complete PDF version at / Puedes bajar la versión completa en PDF en: https://mariantoc.github.io/Resources/Trinidad_Barry%20Carr-Brown.pdf I sincerely invite you to read this interesting publication of the development of the micropaleontology at Trinidad Island and how it has played an integral role in petroleum exploration and exploitation both locally and internationally. The planktonic foraminiferal zonation of the Cenozoic developed in Trinidad became the standard biostratigraphy used worldwide in the petroleum industry and in paleoceanographic work. In 1948 Hans H. Renz has recognised the uppermost Trinidad Lower Miocene ( Globigerinatella insueta ) and Middle Miocene ( Globorotalia fohsi ) zones in Falcon, Western Venezuela. A

The Venezuelan Hydrocarbon Habitat, Part 1: Tectonics, Structure, Paleogeography and Source Rocks. K. H. James 2000 You can download complete PDF version at / Puedes bajar la versión completa en PDF en: https://mariantoc.github.io/structural.html Journal of Petroleum Geology, vo1.23(1), January 2000, pp 5-53. The “Hydrocarbon Habitat” referred to in this paper is defined as the total geological context of generated and trapped hydrocarbons. It considers the tectonic setting and evolution of the entire host region as these relate to the palaeogeography of source, reservoir and seal units, the evolution of intermediate and existing basins and traps, the maturation of source rocks and the migration of products.

Bibliographic References of Diamond Deposits in Venezuela Through the Stratigraphic Code of Venezuela, GEOREF, Google Earth and Internet. Marianto Castro Mora You can download complete PDF version at / Puedes bajar la versión completa en PDF en: https://mariantoc.github.io/minerals.html Diamonds were discovered in Venezuela in 1902 and it was in 1930 when their exploitation began. In 1942, Venezuelan Jaime Hudson discovered the largest diamond found so far in the country, known as "El Libertador" or "Bolívar", 154 qt, at the site called Surukún, Bolívar state, and was cut by Harry Winston, in three stones of 40, 18 and 12 qt (THEMELIS, 1997).

Palinología e icnología en la determinación del contacto discordante Cretáceo – Terciario en Venezuela suroccidental y su impacto en la exploración de hidrocarburos. Mata – García, L. 2006 Revista del Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales, Volúmen 8, Número 2, p. 201 - 207 You can download complete PDF version at / Puedes bajar la versión completa en PDF en: https://mariantoc.github.io/stratigraphy.html Palynology and ichnology in the determination of Cretaceous -Tertiary unconformity contact in southwestern Venezuela and their impact in hydrocarbons exploration. The material comes from two wells drilled at the Barinas State. Integration of results is due to analyses of marine and terrestrial palynomorphs, and ichnofacie that allows to determine the Maastrichtian - Middle Eocene unconformity at well #1 at a deep of 9,901´5´´ by the presence of Foveotriletes margaritae (Van der Hammen) Germeraad, Hopping & Muller, peridinioid dinocysts and the Glossifungite

The Humboldt Channel: Early Pleistocene extensional graben through eastern Venezuela and Trinidad. Macsotay, O. 2005 Transactions of the 16th Caribbean Geological Conference, Barbados. Caribbean Journal of Earth Science, 39 (2005), 83-91. You can download complete PDF version at / Puedes bajar la versión completa en PDF en: https://mariantoc.github.io/stratigraphy.html Since Alexander Von Humboldt (1814-1824) predicted the future union of the gulfs of Cariaco and Paria, attention was drawn to an extensive east-west oriented valley separating the coastal ranges of the north, from the Serrania del Interior Oriental in the south. Liddle (1946) mapped the Araya-Paria coastal ranges as metamorphic rocks, and the Serrania to the south as sedimentary, mostly Cretaceous and Paleogene. This elongated depression was an area of frequent earthquakes, with hundreds of hydrothermal water springs, and occasional oil seeps mentioned by Urbani, 1989
